Can I Control Now?

God, help me to accept my role to decrease and make room for you to increase. For you to become greater in me and through me. Help me to surrender control. It is tiring. It is exhausting. I can’t do it all by myself. I guess I was never supposed to do it all by myself. You said, “Cast your cares on me,” but how do I do that? Am I supposed to just walk away from it all and be ok? I need to be involved. I need to know what’s happening…

Do you? Were you designed to handle everything?

Let me help you – No, you were not.

You were created to be my vessel. You were created to reflect my light and my glory. Or simply– you were created.

You are the creation, not the creator.

There’s a difference. Yes, you were designed in my image and have access to my power. However, you must remember that it is all mine. The image, the power, you. You are mine.

In case you tried to gloss over that last part, let me repeat it for you.

You are mine.

If you are mine, that means I am responsible for you and everything that involves you. It is me. I am the one who controls the narrative. I am the one who gives you the energy to handle all your tasks. I am the architect who crafted the complex structure of your brain to create and process the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing in this very moment. I am. If I am, then you don’t need to worry about the outcome if you’re no longer in control, because I got this.

As a newsflash to you, you were never in control. The more control you thought you possessed, the more pride entered your heart. Right before your destined fall, I decided to step in and gently remind you to allow me to retake the throne of your heart, so that you could release the burden you were carrying.

Release your control.

Surrender that pride to me. It’s ok. I am here. I’ve always been, but now you’re taking the time to acknowledge me and to listen.

I am here. I will always be here.

Let go of your confined understanding of control. It’s not working for you anyway.

I promise that I can handle everything now. I know what I am doing because I created it all. Remember?

Will you trust me now?
